Building Evacuated After Floor Collapsed and Walls Cracked in Miami

Miami, FL: Authorities evacuated a building after the living room floor collapsed. A woman got stuck on the collapsed floor. The Miami Fire Rescue arrived at the home in the 900 block of Southwest 12th Avenue.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning after there were reports of a 96-year-old woman who got stuck in the building.

Photos revealed multiple breaches in the walls, and MFR confirmed that the 96-year-old woman had gone through the floor and was stuck in the debris at a waist-high length. Crews extracted her and there was no need to transfer her to the hospital.

Crews evacuated the residence after the floor collapsed, causing breaches in the wall. The Miami Building Department dispatched crews to inspect the home’s structural safety.

Six individuals have been displaced from the building. It was unclear when the residents would be able to return home.
