Boyfriend Shot Dead Straight in Head after Heated Argument, Woman in Custody in Massachusetts

Leominster, MA: A woman is accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend in her Leominster residence following an argument. Documents from court identify the deceased as Jeffrey Carr, 53, and accuse Jami Parker, 28, with his murder.

Wednesday around 10:30 p.m., Parker reportedly dialed an ambulance for the victim, according to investigators. Upon reaching the Main Street residence, officers discovered Carr lifeless with a solitary gunshot wound to the head on the kitchen floor.

“A subsequent interview and review of the audio recording of Parker’s 911 call led to the conclusion that a domestic dispute had taken place at the residence,” according to a trooper’s report from the Massachusetts State Police. “During that argument, Parker accessed a firearm from the bedroom and shot Carr in the head.”

At the site, law enforcement officers apprehended Parker. Thursday in Leominster District Court, she was weeping as officers carried her inside. Parker faces charges of assault and battery with a hazardous weapon in addition to armed assault with the intent to murder.

John Roemer, the attorney for Parker, referenced a prior record of restraining orders and incidents of domestic violence that transpired between the couple from January to October 2023. Relatives claim that the two have a child jointly.

“It’s hard to say, without going into the evidence, who the real victim is,” Roemer pointed out.

Thursday morning, on the premises, there was a minimum of one law enforcement vehicle observed. Five police cruisers and a fire engine were among the numerous vehicles that produced a “huge commotion,” according to a neighbor who spoke with WBZ-TV.

The National Guard certified Parker’s enlistment as a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the Massachusetts Army National Guard in May 2018 as a sergeant. She has reportedly not deployed, per the National Guard.

Parker is being detained without bail pending a hearing next week regarding his dangerousness.
