A tragic incident occurred in Tennessee where a 16-year-old boy lost his life after colliding with a black bear while driving on the night of Saturday, Nov. 23, as reported by various sources.
According to reports from local outlets, a young boy was driving in Campbell County, located in the northeast region of Tennessee, at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol provided the information, but the boy’s name has not been disclosed.
A black bear appeared on the road right in front of the truck driven by the boy, and officials reported that they couldn’t avoid the collision, according to various sources.
A collision took place on Stinking Creek Road, located in a remote mountainous region close to the Kentucky border.
A report indicated that the bear was hit by the front bumper of the pickup truck, which ultimately came to an “uncontrolled final rest out of the roadway.”
A 16-year-old boy, who was a passenger, sustained injuries from the crash.
According to WATE, the highway patrol reported that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
