Arizona Taskforce Discover Several Stolen Vehicles With Firearms in Mesa

Phoenix, AZ: Authorities apprehended two individuals on numerous felony charges following the discovery of seven stolen vehicles, methamphetamine, and multiple firearms at an automotive establishment in Mesa, Arizona.

The arrest was made by detectives from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Vehicle Theft Task Force (VTTF) on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. Additionally, detectives discovered two human skulls on the property.

Authorities conducted a search warrant at Meadows Auto located near 1st Avenue and Country Club Drive on Feb. 8. This action was taken after stolen vehicles were found on the premises during a routine business inspection. Several vehicles were stolen, including a 2008 Ford pickup truck, a 2016 Arctic Cat, a Clark forklift, and four trailers.

Tara Montgomery, 40, has been taken into custody on multiple drug-related charges.

Additionally, authorities discovered approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, two rifles, one sawed-off shotgun, and two human skulls on the property. The skulls were handed over to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office for additional examination.

Eddie Meadows, a property owner, has been arrested and is facing several charges, including theft of means of transportation, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor, and possession of a dangerous drug. He has been booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
