An individual from Chino Valley has been taken into custody following allegations that he engaged in sexual activity with a girl who is 14 years old, as stated by the Chino Valley Police Department.
After receiving a call from a church camp in the vicinity on Friday, July 12, the Arizona Department of Child Safety provided the police with a tip.
The tip was received by the police. Officials at the camp were informed by employees that a girl of 14 years old had reported that a family friend had sexual contact with them, according to the police.
On the following day, the victim was taken by the police to the Yavapai Family Advocate Center for an interview. During the interview, she disclosed to the authorities that she had been sexually abused by the defendant on multiple times, according to the police.
As a result of the detectives’ ability to establish probable cause, Michael Andrew, who is 46 years old, was taken into custody and charged with sexual abuse of a minor, molestation of a child, voyeurism, and public sexual indecency.

It was said that Andrew was one of the girl’s parents’ “best friends from college,” and the children referred to him as “uncle,” as stated in a statement of probable cause concerning the incident. Additionally, the girl was acquainted with Andrew’s children and, on numerous occasions, would spend the night with them as reported by 12News.
According to the records filed in the court, Andrew confirmed his involvement in the case after the victim called him and asked him to stop while officers were listening in on the conversation.
Despite the fact that Andrew was not associated with the church camp, the authorities have stated that he is a gymnastics instructor, and they feel that there may be further victims. He is still being held in custody without a bond.
