Aoashi: What’s the Storyline of the Anime?

Aoashi plot

Aoashi is a true traditionalist, perhaps a tad less so than the third member of the “blue trio” of soccer manga, Be Blues, but nonetheless traditional. There are no superpowers, no world-saving subplots, and no science-fiction aspects in this game, just soccer.

Ashito is a gifted soccer player with a direct demeanor. Sadly for him and the rest of the squad, the outspoken and forthright Ashito provoked a tragic situation, which resulted in their elimination from one of his most important competitions. How will he realize his dream now that his chances of entering a high school with a good soccer club have faded?

There are some spoilers ahead!

Tatsuya Fukuya, a veteran of J-Club Team Tokyo City Esperion and coach of the youth team, has seen Aoi’s soccer ability. As a result, Tatsuya invites Aoi to Tokyo to try out for the J-Club young squad.

A representative from Esperion speaks with him about his shoes and urges him to continue. The match is played by a cheerful Ashito. But this is where things start to go wrong. The Youth squad has completed their warm-up! They begin playing for real and immediately destroy the selection team. Ashito tries hard, but when that nice senior appears again, he becomes even more flustered.

Aoashi plot 2

Akutsuu, the sole one from the previous year was chosen. He calls Ashito trash and thoroughly destroys our protagonist for the rest of the match. Despite this, Ashito remains undeterred. His mother and brother’s efforts keep him going. His determination is stronger than it has ever been.

Following his enrollment into Tokyo Esperion Youth, Aoashi concentrated on Ashito’s connection with his mother, Noriko, whom he must leave behind. Both sides of the relationship were depicted in the anime. Noriko couldn’t bring herself to tell Ashito how pleased she was with him, so she sent him a letter.
