Amanda Seales appeared on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast and talked about her relationship with her former co-star Issa Rae.
Seales and Rae starred in the HBO dramedy “Insecure.” There has been a longtime feud between the two and finally Seales spilled the beans.
“I’ve never talked about this publicly because it has always been incredibly important to me to protect Issa. Because I know that Issa is doing something within this business that so few people get to do,” Seales told host Shannon Sharpe. “I’m not interested in getting a $100 million production deal. That’s not a life that I want for myself. But I know that her role is very important.”
At a “Black Emmys party” in 2018, Seales said that her relationship with Rae started to fall apart after Rae’s publicist Vanessa Anderson reportedly mistreated her. Seales said that she told Rae that Anderson had a “problem” with her, but Rae didn’t seem to Seales’ claim.
Seales returned to the “Black Emmys party.” in 2019. The “Get Your Life” performer claimed she was denied admittance because her name was not on the list of allowed participants, despite being invited.
Seales entered the gathering with actor pal Elijah Kelley. Seales said Anderson, an event planner, requested that security personnel remove her from the gathering. The actress claimed a security guard abused her during escorting.
Seales further revealed, “There’s a whole narrative that is completely false that people keep spinning… “They keep saying that I’m this mean girl on this set, that I harmed these people on this set.”
Near the end of the series, Seales ceased talking to Rae as per ETOnline.
