Authorities have taken two daycare workers into custody following allegations of abuse involving at least one child at a local daycare facility, as reported by the Daleville Police Department.
On Thursday, authorities responded to a report at Medical Center Enterprise regarding claims of child abuse. Upon reaching the hospital, officers engaged in conversation with the child’s parent.
The parent reported that the child had developed bruises and swelling by the time of pickup, which was absent earlier that day.
Officers were guided to Happy Hearts Christian Academy Daycare during the police interview.
Following an investigation, authorities took into custody 20-year-old Kailey Gilley from Daleville on charges of severe child mistreatment, alongside 30-year-old Magan Koker from Enterprise, who faces four counts of the same offense.
The two women have been transported to the Dale County Jail.
Authorities have indicated that the inquiry remains ongoing, and additional charges are anticipated.
