Oklahoma Man Got 100 Stitches from 25 Dog Bites; Jumped in to Save Stranger from Brutal Dog Attack in Bartlesville

A man from Bartlesville is now recuperating at home following a dog attack that occurred five days prior.

Randal Florence is covered in cuts and bite marks after heroically rescuing a woman from a dog attack. Florence expresses no regrets about risking his life to help a stranger and would gladly do it once more. He mentioned that he had a day off from work last Friday and felt uncertain about how to spend his time.

“I’m like, do I run to Braum’s and get breakfast really quick no, I’m going to go ahead and start working this morning and get something done,” he said.

Florence claims that had he eaten breakfast, he would have missed the sound of a woman shouting down the street.

“These five dogs had a hold of this woman, there wasn’t really no time to think I knew she was defenseless,” said Florence.

Florence claimed that if he didn’t remove the dogs from her, they would have ended her life.

At one moment, Florence noted that the dogs halted, prompting him to quickly escort the woman to safety. The dogs launched another attack.

“One of the dogs grabs me by one leg and I’m like are you serious, you know, and they were because another one grabs over at this leg and like throws its whole body and basically twisted my legs and had me down on the ground like that, and I see another coming at me so I threw this arm basically fed it this arm,” said Florence.

At the same time, his neighbor was preparing to stand up for himself.

“She somehow grabbed like a rake or a broom and is over here kind of waving it towards the dogs telling the dogs no don’t mess with him and I was very thankful,” Florence explained.

Florence and the woman, who is fine, then received assistance.

He is currently on the mend, having received over 100 stitches due to more than 25 dog bites.

Florence acknowledges the frequent calls of heroism directed at him, expressing gratitude but emphasizing that the true credit should go to another individual.

“I think about what Jesus did for me you know what I mean, if anybody got anything from it like he needs to be getting the credit you know what I mean? I don’t want to be called a hero, you know, because mine is in the Bible.”

Randal was informed by doctors that physical therapy would be necessary for him to walk correctly, and that it would take approximately six months for him to fully heal from his injuries.

Authorities in Bartlesville report that the dogs have been put down. Florence mentions that he remains unaware of the woman’s name whom he assisted, but he intends to make an introduction.
