Man Attacked Girlfriend’s Daughter with Suitcase and Brutally Yanked Braid on Cruise Ship in Florida

A Georgia man is facing four charges in South Florida after police say he attacked his girlfriend’s children while on a cruise, striking one with a suitcase, kicking another in the mouth, and tearing a braid from another’s head.

Damion Fryer, 32, of Hampton, Georgia, was detained by Miami-Dade police on Friday when the Royal Caribbean ship Allure of the Seas returned to PortMiami.

According to the arrest record, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on September 16.

According to police, Fryer pushed his girlfriend’s 10-year-old daughter before punching her in the torso when she attempted to break up the brawl.

According to the complaint, he then “grabbed a hardshell suitcase” and used it to punch the girl in the face. He then pulled a picture frame from the wall and attempted to strike her with it, but the victim’s mother managed to catch it, according to police.

However, authorities indicated Fryer was not finished. They claimed he kicked his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son in the mouth and “threw him across the room” before yanking a braid from his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter’s head as she exited the restroom.

The report adds that all three youngsters suffered minor injuries.

Police charged Fryer with one count of aggravated violence and three charges of child abuse with no great bodily harm.

As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the Metro West Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.

According to jail records, if freed, he will be placed under “total lockdown” home arrest with GPS tracking.
