On Saturday afternoon, Lima Police officers were engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The chase occurred at approximately 4:30 pm.
There was a stolen vehicle that was heading north on Cole Street, and based on scanner traffic, it was going at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.
The suspect, who is a minor, proceeded to make a right turn onto West Street and collided with a sign indicating that the road was closed. A stolen vehicle came to a halt in a construction area, resulting in damage to the police cruiser that was chasing it.
The suspect fled on foot, and authorities managed to track him down in a nearby bean field. He ultimately surrendered and was apprehended by law enforcement.
The suspect’s name has not been disclosed by the Lima Police Department. However, they are currently facing charges related to a stolen motor vehicle and fleeing.
