9-year-old Dragged to Car and Molested by Man; Suspect Dead after Police Chase in New York

A man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl passed away in a car accident during a short police chase in Queens on Friday afternoon, as reported by the NYPD.

A suspect named Wayne Neol allegedly abducted a girl who was waiting for her grandmother outside a bathroom in a Key Food store on Jamaica Avenue in Queens Village. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the police.

According to the police, Neol forcibly took the girl and drove away in his car, where he subjected her to a distressing situation. A kind-hearted individual intervened and managed to stop the attack. They then returned to the store, where the assailant targeted the girl once more, according to the authorities.

“That survivor will never be the same,” stated NYPD Assistant Chief Jason Savino during a briefing on Friday.

Authorities reported that Neol was spotted leaving the scene in a four-door Honda Civic.

Police officers noticed the individual in his vehicle at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of 212th Street and Hillside Avenue.

They made an attempt to stop him. According to the NYPD, they chased after him until he disregarded a stop sign and collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee two blocks away near 90th Avenue and 212th Street. The driver of the Jeep was unharmed and stayed at the scene.

Neol, 64, passed away at a hospital after being taken there, according to the police.

According to the police, Neol has a history of four previous arrests. There was a recent incident involving an alleged robbery in Queens. According to authorities, a man allegedly accosted a woman on the street, coerced her into his vehicle, transported her to a different spot, and proceeded to steal from her while brandishing a knife.
