Austin, TX- Following an altercation that took place at the restaurant, a former employee of Whataburger is currently being held in custody on suspicion of stabbing another former employee in the neck.
This took place on July 27 at the Whataburger restaurant that is situated on Guadalupe Street, which is situated close to the north of the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
Witness testimony and security footage, as well as court documents, revealed that the defendant, who has been identified as Jamone Grant, 19, attempted to fight the former employee while they were both inside the business.
Grant stabbed the victim numerous times in the neck as soon as the victim took a step toward getting closer to him. At the time of the victim’s arrival at Dell Seton Hospital, they were in critical condition.
A couple of days later, Grant surrendered himself to the authorities.
Officers conducted a search warrant at Grant’s residence and discovered blood stains on his clothing that were identical to the DNA of the victim.
Grant was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a felony of the second degree. He was transported to the Travis County Jail for booking. There was a $10,000 bond posted for him.
