EVANSVILLE, Indiana- The individual who admitted to committing child molestation has now received his official sentence.
Joshua Leduc has received a prison sentence of 18 years, with nine years for each of the two felony counts. He has been sentenced to serve 18 consecutive years in prison.
Authorities report that Leduc committed acts of child molestation during his employment as a preschool teacher at Bethel United Church of Christ.
According to court records, a complaint has been filed against Bethel United Church and Leduc.
This is in support of the victim and their family.
The church is being accused of negligence in their hiring process, while Leduc is being criticized for targeting the victim.
The victim and their family are seeking compensation for damages from Leduc and the church, according to records.
