Everett, WA- A man who attempted to kidnap and rape a lady was taken into custody by the Everett police department on Thursday morning.
There was a woman who called 911 to report that she had been “jumped.” At approximately 10:28 in the morning, Everett police officers responded to an “assault in progress” near the intersection of 39th Street and Hoyt Avenue.
During the course of the investigation, the woman told the officers that she had been seized by the throat and mouth while being dragged into surrounding vegetation by a man whom she did not know. This information was provided by the woman to the officers.
The woman reported to the cops that she was able to put up a battle against the man and fight him off.

A number of law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene in an attempt to locate the culprit; however, they were initially unsuccessful in their search as reported by KOMO News.
At around forty-five minutes later, a member of the community called the police to report that they had seen the suspect, which ultimately resulted in him being taken into custody.
With the charges of attempted kidnapping and attempted rape, the man was taken into custody and lodged in the Snohomish County jail.
