7-month-old Baby Boy Dead from Severe Injuries after Mom left Him with Godmother for Babysitting

Following a recent incident, authorities have reported the unfortunate passing of a 7-month-old boy in Kansas City. Homicide detectives have been called in to investigate this tragic event, which is being treated as a suspicious death.

The investigation was confirmed by KCPD on Thursday following an initial call received on Saturday, June 15 at 11:30 p.m.

Authorities responded to a residence located at 53rd and Olive, in close proximity to Blue Hills Parks and 71 Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered a young boy who had sustained severe physical injuries.

He was transported to a hospital for additional medical care, but detectives were informed of his passing on Thursday.

Details regarding the investigation are currently limited. It is unclear whether the police have detained any individuals or are actively seeking to interview anyone regarding this ongoing investigation into a death.

The family has confirmed the identity of the 7-month-old boy who tragically passed away as Giovanni Carr. According to their explanation, Giovanni’s mother, Armoni, had a new job starting on Saturday. As a result, she entrusted Giovanni to the care of his godmother.

“He was very sweet, he didn’t cry, he was nice, he liked everybody, he was loving and caring,” said Giovanni’s cousin Jesseka Walker. “He was just a baby doing what babies do, that’s it.”

According to family members interviewed by FOX4, Giovanni suffered severe injuries to his brain and eyes, as well as lacerations to multiple organs and burns on his feet.
