According to authorities in Missouri, a 60-year-old neighbor abducted a woman, beat her, and made her strip.
According to court records, the St. Louis lady went to her neighbor’s house on Saturday, September 7, to bring him food, but he refused to let her go.
A probable cause statement stated that Robert Anzalone, her neighbor, grew extremely enraged while she was visiting his home. He believed she had stolen money from him. Her attempt to flee was thwarted by Anzalone. He demanded that she remove her clothing so he could search her while brandishing a metal bat and yelling threats.
Despite her cooperation, he allegedly proceeded to beat her with the bat. Subsequently, he searched her purse and took other items, as stated in the records.
She was reportedly able to answer her boyfriend’s call after being confined in the house for 30 minutes, during which she informed him that she was in danger, despite the fact that she was not permitted to leave or make any phone calls.
According to the records, she seized the opportunity to flee and dashed out the front door, but Anzalone caught wind of her flight and after her. According to the statement, the boyfriend intervened when he noticed Anzalone chasing after her.
According to the records, Anzalone returned to his home after repeatedly hitting him with the bat, but he persisted in fighting back. Next, the pair contacted the authorities.
The woman and her boyfriend were accused of attacking Anzalone, but “the evidence did not support this claim,” according to records, despite his assertions that he was the victim when police came.
Assault, kidnapping, armed criminal action, and robbery were among the allegations against Anzalone that were recorded on September 8th.
