Cincinnati, OH: A 19-year-old Cincinnati father has been taken into custody for what authorities describe as a serious incident of infant abuse.
Aaron Cupp allegedly caused severe injuries to his 6-month-old child, resulting in hospitalization and a traumatic brain injury, as stated in a criminal complaint signed by a Cincinnati police personal crimes investigator on July 11.
According to court records, the abuse took place when the father was the only one taking care of the baby at their home in East Price Hill, where they reside alone.
According to an affidavit, the infant experienced a range of injuries including a brain injury, subdural hemorrhage, spinal fracture, fractures in both tibias, multiple rib fractures, hemorrhaging in the eye, and bruising on various parts of the body.
According to the court record, medical professionals at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital conducted a thorough examination of the baby and determined that his injuries were a result of physical child abuse.

According to the police statement, Aaron Cupp was unable to provide an explanation for the cause of the injuries, which aligns with their severity.
According to his arrest report, he was taken into custody in Dayton early Tuesday on charges of felonious assault and endangering children.
During Wednesday’s court hearing, a state prosecutor mentioned that at the time of his arrest, the individual was actually visiting with his son, who is the alleged victim in this case. He was taken into custody during that visitation.
The judge decided to set Cupp’s bond at 10% of $500,000 as reported by Fox19 News.
If he is able to provide the funds for his release, he will be required to remain at home under house arrest and electronic monitoring, as stated in the court docket. Additionally, he was instructed to refrain from any communication with the child.
According to the state prosecutor, the child has been discharged from the hospital and is now under the care of a family member in Dayton.
