A man has been caught on suspicion of stabbing two people, one of whom was a 4-year-old, at a nearby hotel.
NCPD said that on June 10, the U.S. Marshal Task Force found and arrested Akem Joseph Smith in Florence County.
Two people were stabbed at the Siesta Motor Lodge on the 4000 block of Rivers Avenue the day before, and Smith, 33, is wanted in connection with that crime.
An incident report says Smith is thought to have stabbed the guy and the child, who were both taken to a nearby hospital as per WJCL News.
Two more people were arrested in North Charleston in connection with the case. They are Johnelle J. Reaves Jr., 26, and Jordan A. Gathers, 23. They are each charged with one count of acting wrongly toward a child.
Having a knife during a violent crime and two counts of attempted murder are the charges against Smith. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
