A man from Biloxi was caught and charged with setting a fire and assaulting a police officer.
The 35-year-old Kelvin Voneric Skinner was caught by Biloxi police. The incident happened on Saturday.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of Pass Road because someone had reported seeing an unknown person, who turned out to be Skinner. Police say Skinner wouldn’t leave a room on the second floor even though the building was on fire.
As the police talked to people in the area, they learned that the fire was set on purpose and that Skinner was thought to be the person responsible for the fire.
Skinner finally jumped out of the window on the second floor, and police tried to arrest him. In the process, he hit one of the police officers in the chest, but he was caught and arrested without any more trouble as per FOX8Live News.
A judge in the justice court set a $150,000 bond for Skinner, who is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
