After Lexington Police reported that two individuals had assaulted a 3-month-old baby, the Fayette County Coroner began their investigation into the child’s death.
According to a news release from the coroner, Greyson Torres was declared dead at Kentucky Children’s Hospital on October 2nd from many blunt force traumatic injuries caused by alleged criminal assault. A homicide investigation is underway on the death.
The child’s death was announced by the police on Thursday morning, and new charges may be forthcoming in relation to the two individuals already charged with maltreatment.
An arrest citation states that 20-year-old Amancio Torres-Trevino Jr. brutally assaulted his relative Greyson, causing internal injuries in addition to severe head and chest trauma. The child’s injuries were deemed life-threatening by the doctors when they arrived at the hospital.
According to the arrest citation, Torres-Trevino and Greyson were alone at 2800 Alumni Drive on September 29th, and the injuries sustained were a result of physical abuse.
Additionally, 20-year-old Kaela Breann Walker is facing charges. It is stated in her arrest citation that she did not notify social services or law enforcement of the abuse or make any effort to put an end to it.
They faced charges of first-degree criminal abuse of a minor under the age of twelve.
