Charges of child exploitation have been brought against a man who was apprehended in Blanchard.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) carried out an investigation with regard to the distribution of child pornography through the use of the Internet.
A person on the internet who has been identified as Kevin Berit Goelz, who is 19 years old, was the source of hundreds of photographs that contained content depicting sexual abuse of children.
On Wednesday morning, May 22, investigators from the Office of the State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and other criminal enforcement agencies issued a search warrant at a residence in Blanchard, where Goelz was discovered and spoke with officials.
He was taken into custody and booked into the McClain County Jail on counts of child sexual exploitation, distribution of child pornography, and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. These charges were brought against him.
In recognition of their assistance in the investigation, the OSBI expressed gratitude to the Blanchard Police Department, the McClain County Sheriff’s Office, and the Payne County Sheriff’s Office.
