18-Year-Old’s Subway Surfing Attempt Ends in Critical Injuries on New York Subway Tracks

A young woman, just 18 years old, suffered severe injuries following what seems to be an unsuccessful attempt at subway surfing in Harlem during the busy Wednesday evening commute, according to sources from law enforcement.

According to sources, witnesses observed the teenager attempting to ascend a southbound 2 train around 6 p.m. when she fell onto the tracks.

Authorities reported that she was discovered in the tunnel connecting the West 145th and 135th Street stations, suffering from serious injuries to her right arm and right leg.

A teenager was transported to Harlem Hospital and is currently in critical condition.

A perilous act occurred just weeks following the tragic incident where 13-year-old Krystel Romero lost her life and her 14-year-old companion sustained critical injuries after they fell from a southbound No. 7 train at the 111th Street station in Corona, according to police reports.

A tragic incident occurred shortly after another, which claimed the life of 13-year-old Adolfo Sorzano while he was subway surfing at the Forest Avenue station in Ridgewood, Queens.

This week, the MTA informed The Post that it has urged social media companies to eliminate over 10,900 posts related to subway surfing, yet it was unable to specify the number of clips that have been successfully taken down.

The head of the MTA, Janno Lieber, previously stated that businesses are generally adhering to the guidelines for eliminating hazardous material.
