16-year-old Dead in Crash in North Carolina; Authorities say “Excessive Speed a factor

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a collision that occurred on Saturday morning in North Carolina resulted in the death of a young woman who was 16 years old.

Following the receipt of a report of a fatal collision on Henry River Road in Burke County at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, state troopers arrived at the location. Rudisill Street is located nearby.

According to the findings of the investigation, a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling north on Henry River Road when it disappeared off the right side of the road, went down an embankment, and collided with a tree.

The driver, Savannah Marie Green, who was 16 years old and from Connelly Springs, had life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but they were unable to save her life due to the injuries she sustained.

There was a passenger in the truck who had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening and was sent to the hospital.

“Excessive speed” was a contributing element in the accident, according to the investigators who looked into the matter.
