A man from Marion was taken into custody on allegations that he had sexually molested a kid on a consistent basis between the months of September 2020 and May 2023. The arrest happened one week ago.
In addition to being charged with two charges of sexual abuse in the second degree, Maurice Anthony Serito Jones, who is 37 years old, is also charged with one crime of continuous sexual abuse of a child, one count of lascivious actions with a child, and one offense of indecent contact with a child.

According to a criminal complaint, the kid, who is now 14 years old, stated that she was subjected to sexual assault by Jones on multiple occasions in two different locations where he home-schooled her when she was between the ages of 11 and 13.
On Friday, Jones was taken into custody, and he made his initial court appearance during the weekend period. He has a cash-only bond of $100,000 and is now being held in custody at the Linn County Jail. Regarding the child, a no-contact order has been submitted to the court systems.
