11-year-old Boy Shot in Head after Man Left Loaded Gun in Room Full of Kids; Now Facing Charges in Illinois

A man is being charged with putting a child’s life or health in danger after it is alleged that he left a firearm unattended for an extended period of time.

Micah D. Stitts, age 26, is being charged with the shooting that resulted in an eight-year-old kid receiving life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head on Sunday afternoon. According to the records for the Peoria County Court, Stitts is facing a charge related with the crime. At first, the Peoria Police Department stated that the youngster was 11 years old.

According to the Peoria Police Department, Stitts and a child who was 17 years old were there at the time of the incident.

Following the transfer of Stitts to the police department for the purpose of conducting an interview, he was subsequently detained for an outstanding warrant and charged with the class A misdemeanor offense of endangering the health and life of a child.

The young man, who was 17 years old, ran away. Per the police, a warrant has been issued.

Records from the jail suggest that Stitts was released due to a court order. The next court date for him is on July 10th as reported by 25NewsNow.
