A 10-year-old child who was reportedly taken from Texas by a woman from the Big Country was found by the U.S. Marshals, the Wyoming Fugitive Task Force, and the Evansville Police Department.
The Evansville Police Department says the child was taken from Texas in October 2023. When Courtney Klein, 28, came into Wyoming a few weeks ago, the U.S. Marshals started to follow her.
U.S. Marshals said that Klein, the mother who does not have care of the child, was given an arrest warrant on May 15 for interfering with child custody. After two days, the Abilene Police Department asked for help, which led to the child and the suspect being found at a motel in Evansville, Wyoming.
Randall Huff, U.S. Marshal for the District of Wyoming, said, “I’d like to thank the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the Evansville Police Department for their help and cooperation in making sure the missing child was found safely.”
