Young Woman took Old Man on Date and then robbed and beat him with her real Boyfriend in Florida

Volusia County, Florida: According to authorities, a duo in Florida planned to entice a 73-year-old man by offering a date, only to assault and steal from him on the side of a road.

Chelsea Wright, 34, and Andrew Marks, 33, were arrested by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office for robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery on a victim over the age of 65.

On February 22, just before 5 a.m., the victim arrived at a hospital with severe lacerations to his head that needed staples, and his eye was swollen shut. Deputies reported that he also sustained injuries to his torso and arms, according to a press release released on Saturday. According to the victim, a man attacked him with a metal object and stole his wallet.

Investigators later discovered that the victim had met with Wright at a Daytona Beach pub to discuss their relationship, according to authorities. Reportedly, Wright asked the victim to come back to her home, and he drove behind her in his car. At one point, Wright picked up a man — later identified as Marks — on the side of the road and she later dropped him off near a home, deputies said.

Marks reportedly took the victim’s wallet and the two individuals ran away, leaving the victim injured on the ground.

Authorities swiftly identified Wright as the suspect and stopped her for a traffic violation the day following the robbery, according to a statement. Authorities reported that she was taken into custody for drug possession and a parole violation after drugs were found in her car.

During questioning by detectives, Wright initially attempted to assert that the assailant was an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s disease, according to authorities. Investigators discovered text messages between Wright and Marks, her ex-boyfriend, indicating she orchestrated the robbery. Marks was taken into custody by deputies on Friday.

Both individuals are currently being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond set.
