A woman from Fayetteville faces allegations of sexual abuse following the presentation of video evidence by the alleged victim to law enforcement, as detailed in court documents.
Mary Marelle, 39, was taken into custody on October 25, facing charges of second-degree sexual assault and making terroristic threats.
A recent affidavit revealed that a detective from the Goshen Police Department was approached by an individual while attending to a call on July 7, who reported having been abused by Marelle in June.
On July 30, an individual visited the police station. A statement, along with video and audio evidence of the incident, was provided by the victim, as reported.
Marelle was seen in the video engaging in aggressive behavior towards the victim, including kicking, hitting, slapping, and throwing objects. Marelle reportedly removed her clothing, compelled the victim to touch her body, and threatened to take their life.
Marelle was freed from the Washington County Detention Center after posting a $7,500 bond on October 26 and has been instructed to avoid any contact with the purported victim. Her court appearance is scheduled for November 15.
