Woman Reeking Alcohol Stabbed Seven Times in Back during Family Meeting in Utah

A 23-year-old woman has been taken into custody by the police for allegedly stabbing a man multiple times during a family gathering in Bluffdale.

Izabel Happold was taken into custody at the Salt Lake County Jail on Friday morning. The charges against her include aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, intoxication, and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at Rockpoint Apartments on 15300 S. Porter Rockwell Blvd, according to Bluffdale police detective Carl Hamer.

Hamer reported that a family had assembled at an apartment to commemorate a birthday and Independence Day. However, the festivities took a turn for the worse when two individuals engaged in a rather intense physical altercation, likely due to the influence of alcohol.

According to Hamer, there was an incident where Happold, who is married to one of the men involved, allegedly stabbed the other man multiple times. Based on the affidavit, it was reported that the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his back and neck.

According to the police, there were seven children present in the apartment during the stabbing incident.

According to the affidavit, Happold initially informed the police that she had stabbed the man in order to defend her husband. However, she also confessed to stabbing the victim prior to him initiating the assault on her husband.

According to Hamer, both men received medical treatment at the hospital for injuries that, although serious, were not life-threatening.

According to the police, Happold concealed the knife in a dumpster close by and subsequently presented it to the officers. Authorities also discovered numerous open alcoholic containers scattered throughout the residence, and Happold was consuming alcohol while conversing with the officers as per KSL News.

Based on court documents, Happold has been ordered to be held without bail by a judge. Hamer mentioned that once the stabbing victim is discharged from the hospital, there is a possibility of him being charged with aggravated assault due to the altercation that took place in the apartment.
