Woman Killed in 5-Car Crash on US-27 in Clermont; Two Others Injured, Troopers Say

CLERMONT, Fla. — A five-vehicle crash on US-27 in Clermont on Tuesday evening left one woman dead and two others injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

Fatal Crash on US-27

The incident occurred around 4:56 p.m. at the intersection of US-27 and Greater Groves Boulevard, leading to a roadblock and major traffic delays in the area, troopers said.

According to the FHP’s preliminary report, the crash involved five vehicles:

  • A 2017 Audi A7
  • A 2019 Subaru Outback
  • A 2015 Lexus RX
  • A 2020 Toyota Camry
  • A 2023 Honda Civic

The driver of the Audi A7, an unidentified woman, was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries, authorities confirmed.

Two Others Injured

The driver and passenger of the Subaru Outback were also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, FHP said. The other drivers involved were not hospitalized and remained at the crash site while investigators processed the scene.

Investigation Underway

Troopers have not released details on what caused the chain-reaction collision, stating that “the sequence of events that led to this crash are still under investigation.” As of Tuesday night, all lanes in the affected area remained temporarily closed, with law enforcement redirecting traffic.
