Woman Kidnapped Her Two Kids from Her Mother after Beating Her Mercilessly and leaving Her Unconscious; Arrested in Tennessee

A 39-year-old woman in Tennessee faces multiple felony charges after reportedly abducting her two biological children.

This incident follows an alleged assault on her mother, the children’s legal guardian, which left the older woman unconscious.

On Thursday, authorities reported that Sarah Myers was arrested and faces charges including one count of child neglect involving a child under the age of 8, two counts of custodial interference, and one count of vehicle theft, all classified as felonies.

Both children, 1-year-old Rico Delk and 3-month-old Elijah Delk, were discovered safe and sound.

On Wednesday evening, authorities from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Metro Nashville Police Department announced an alert concerning two children, Rico and Elijah, who are thought to be in the company of their non-custodial mother, Sarah Myers. Myers was thought to be on the road with the children in a 1997 cream Lincoln Town Car displaying Tennessee license plates.

A recent affidavit acquired by a Nashville news outlet revealed further information regarding the accusations against Myers.

On Wednesday, Myers made her way to her mother Holly Featherman’s home in the Lincoln Town Car, as detailed in the report. Featherman has been identified as the legal guardian of her two grandchildren.

After reaching her mother’s residence, it is claimed that Myers “assaulted her until she lost consciousness,” according to police reports. Myers is said to have taken her biological children and left the area.

Late in the evening, around 11:30 p.m., authorities in Hermitage, Tennessee, allegedly got a call from an individual asking for a welfare check at a townhouse nearby, as Myers was present and said to be in a suicidal state.

A man informed law enforcement that he was acquainted with Myers and that she had recently expressed thoughts of taking her own life, even stating that she had “overdoses on prescription medication,” according to WSMV.

Upon arrival, law enforcement and medical responders discovered the older child unattended in the Lincoln parked outside the townhouse. While the search for Myers and Elijah was ongoing, medical personnel from the Nashville Fire Department took Rico to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital for an evaluation.

Authorities discovered Myers and Elijah within a residence on Old Fountain Place and swiftly apprehended her. Authorities have indicated that Myers entered the home via a back door and, after getting inside, never stepped out to attend to her older child in the Lincoln.

According to official records, Myeris is currently detained with a bond set at $20,000 and is expected to appear in court before Judge Jim Todd on December 12.
