Woman found Dead and Naked in Alabama Apartment; Man Arrested as Suspect in Brutal Killing

A lady who was discovered naked and who had been shot to death outside of an apartment in Avondale has now been identified, and a suspect has been charged in connection with her killing.

It was determined by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office that the deceased individual was Dianisleidy Rodriquez-Hernandez. Born in Cuba, she was 34 years old.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, officers from the South Precinct were informed that shots had been fired and thereafter a person had been shot in the 4200 block of Fifth Avenue South. The park known as Avondale is situated immediately across the street from their location.

Within a short distance of a residence, the police discovered Rodriquez-Hernandez unresponsive. At 5:10 p.m., it was determined that she had passed away at the scene.

Records from the court and the jail indicate that Johnny Ray Sears Jr., 44, from Birmingham, is being charged with murder in connection with the death of the woman. His address is listed as the apartment complex where the murder took place in the documents that are being filed against him.

It was said on Friday by the Mayor of Birmingham, Randall Woodfin, that the two individuals “were together to conduct an illegal transaction.” He did not provide any further explanation as per AL News.

Ray was arrested at the scene of the incident and is currently being held at the Birmingham City Jail pending the filing of official charges. The warrant for the murder was issued early on Friday morning.

At noon on Friday, Ray was taken into custody and placed into the Jefferson County Jail. He is still being held without bond.
