Wisconsin Woman Set Apartment on Fire for Demonic Ritual and Asked Son to Co-operate; Arrested and Slapped with Charges

A woman in Wisconsin has been taken into custody and faces charges of arson after reportedly informing authorities that she was performing a “satanic ritual” in her residence.

On December 21, Charmilia Jeffries, 36, found herself in custody following a call to Milwaukee first responders regarding a fire at an apartment building located on 75th Street. Although there were no injuries, Jeffries’ reasoning for allegedly intentionally igniting her apartment sparked concern — she claimed it was part of a “satanic ritual” aimed at countering the “witchcraft traps” within her residence.

A criminal complaint acquired by WISN, a local ABC affiliate, reveals that Jeffries reportedly instructed her son, whose identity and age remain undisclosed, to remove the smoke detectors from their residence. Jeffries remarked that the detectors raised “suspicious” concerns.

The blaze prompted an immediate response from both the fire department and law enforcement. During her interrogation with detectives, Jeffries claimed, according to the complaint, that this was a “satanic ritual that they do around these times,” further stating that “they[‘ve] been [setting] me up, putting witchcraft traps around my house.”

On December 21, Jeffries was arrested and faced charges of felony arson. She is currently in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail with a bond set at $7,500. The date for the court proceedings remains unspecified.
