Wisconsin Man Slapped with 20 Charges after Child Sexual Abuse Material Busted on His Devices by Authorities

Honk News (Portage, WI) – A 44-year-old man from Wisconsin was taken into custody on February 14 and officially charged with 20 counts related to child pornography on Wednesday.

The Portage Police Department has reported the arrest of Jonathan Schneiter from Portage following a tip that linked him to potential possession of materials related to child sexual abuse.

A search warrant executed at his residence in Portage uncovered that Schneiter had deliberately downloaded and retained multiple images and videos of suspected child sexual abuse materials.

Schneiter remains detained at the Columbia County Jail with a bond set at $10,000. Each of the 20 charges against him is classified as a Class D Felony, carrying potential penalties that include fines reaching $100,000 and/or a prison sentence of up to 25 years.

Every charge comes with a required minimum prison term of three years of initial confinement.
