West Virginia Woman Beat Girl with Dog Leash; Arrested in Metz after Domestic Incident Call to Police

A woman from Marion County was taken into custody and faced charges related to child abuse on Thursday.

A 44-year-old woman from Metz, Connie Cain, faces charges of child abuse leading to injury following an incident involving a 13-year-old girl, as reported by the West Virginia State Police.

Authorities arrived at a domestic situation in Metz on Wednesday around 4:15 p.m.

Surveillance footage reveals a harrowing scene, with the girl desperately pleading for her life as she asks Cain to release her and stop the assault, according to court documents.

In the confrontation, Cain strikes the girl repeatedly with a closed fist and assaults her using a dog leash. Authorities reported that the young girl is depicted curled up on the floor in terror against the door as she endures brutal blows from the leash.

Cain is presently held at the North Central Regional Jail, where a bond of $25,000 has been established.
