Virginia Swim Instructor Charged With Multiple Counts of Sexual Assault on Minor

There are allegations that a guy from Virginia sexually molested a youngster when he was teaching them how to swim at a recreation center in Woodbridge the previous year. The man is currently facing charges for the incident.

The child was allegedly assaulted on many instances and on distinct dates, according to the investigators.

On June 22, law enforcement police started looking into allegations of assaults that were said to have taken place at the Chinn Park Recreation Center, which is situated on Chinn Park Drive, between the months of April and May 2022.

A swim teacher at the recreation center is accused of sexually assaulting the victim on multiple occasions, according to the investigators. The victim was only named as a youngster who was under the age of 13 at the time of the incident.

A swimming instructor named Daniel Smith, who is 72 years old, was found to be responsible for the incident after an investigation. He is facing two counts of aggravated sexual battery after being apprehended and charged with the offense.

The allegations that he was involved in the crimes have resulted in him being detained without bond at this time.

The police have not said if they anticipate there may be further victims or whether they are looking for anyone else who may have been injured as a result of Smith’s actions. The inquiry into these assaults is currently being conducted and is still ongoing.
