Honk News (Hildale, UT) – A coach from a high school in southern Utah has been taken into custody following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a 16-year-old female student.
Aaron Peter Lacorti was taken into custody on Tuesday, facing a charge related to inappropriate conduct with a minor. A 37-year-old individual is serving as an assistant coach for both basketball and football at Water Canyon High School located in Hildale.
According to arrest reports, an anonymous tip was first directed to the Arizona Department of Child Services, which subsequently relayed the information to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Hildale sits right on the border between Utah and Arizona.
The young victim initially told authorities that no wrongdoing had occurred following their initial outreach. In a recent development, the parents of the victim revealed that she “confided in her sister about the romantic relationship with Lacorti.” A 17-year-old has opened up about their relationship, revealing details about “making out” with Lacorti.
In the course of the investigation, the victim provided authorities with a letter in which he expressed the need for the girl to “take some time apart.”
On Tuesday, following his arrest, Lacorti refuted the claims of having kissed the girl and permitted the police to examine his phone.
“Mr. Lacorti indicated that there was stuff on the phone that we would find but nothing sexual,” the arrest report states.
Police documents reveal that Lacorti is currently barred from accessing the school amid the ongoing investigation.
