Two People Hospitalized After Six-car Pileup in West Phoenix; Intersection Closed as Investigators Probe

Phoenix, AZ: Two people are in the hospital after a six-car crash that rocked a west Phoenix neighborhood and injured one seriously enough to put their lives in jeopardy.

Phoenix police have confirmed that the crash happened at the junction of 35th Avenue and Thomas Road shortly before the 8:30 a.m. rush on Sunday.

The police officers who arrived on the scene of the crime wasted no time in attempting to make sense of what had happened. Closing the crossing in an effort to untangle the crash’s complex web forced cars to seek out other routes.

This is the second unfortunate accident at this site in less than 24 hours, according to news reports; the first one also left two people injured. Vehicles came to a crumpled halt at the traffic signals, and one of them veered wildly into a nearby parking lot; the accident left a horrific tableau.

No one has yet come forward to claim responsibility for the injuries. Two individuals were quickly taken to the hospital after the accident, while emergency workers and police rushed to the site.
