Phoenix, AZ: After getting out of prison in Arizona, a 23-year-old guy allegedly stole a semi-truck carrying new Corvettes valued at over $1 million so he could get home.
The Willcox Loves Struck Stop near Interstate 10 was the scene of an incident where Isaiah Walker, a resident of Lawton, Oklahoma, allegedly “lulled him into a sense of security” before violently removing the truck driver from the vehicle, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to ten Chevrolet C8 Corvettes, valued at more than $1.25 million, Walker allegedly fled the scene in the semi. Officials stated that the driver fled the scene of the crime “recklessly” after deputies tried to pull over the stolen vehicle.
Following his arrest, Walker told authorities that he needed the semi-truck to get home from prison and that the Corvettes “were not the reason” he stole it.
Several serious allegations, including robbery, eleven counts of theft of means of transportation, and felony theft, led to Walker’s booking into the Cochise County Jail.
Authorities in Willcox were able to safely retrieve the semi-truck and return it to its rightful owner, according to Chief Dale Hadfield.
