The Golden Bachelor love birds “Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist” have announced divorce just after three months of marriage. The couple tied the knot in January in a televised marriage ceremony.
The couple met each other for the first time in the fall of 2017 on the premiere of “The Golden Bachelor,” a spinoff of ABC’s iconic dating reality series “The Bachelor.”
The divorce announcement was surprising for the fans as the two were head over heels in love.
Nist, a financial services professional from New Jersey, thanked her fans for their support. Turner highlighted their fan’s support as he said on Good Morning America, “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion, mutually, that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
The couple presumably decided to part ways after there was speculation that Turner and Nist were having problems settling on a living situation. The couple did not specify the reasons for their divorce.
The couple said that they still love each other after both professed their love once again.
“There’s no doubt in my mind, I still am in love with her,” Turner said. “I root for her every day.”
“Yeah, I still love him,” Nist added to the conversation.
The couple came into spotlight after they starred on the first season of The Golden Bachelor. Turner was on the show to find love partner after his sweetheart passed away in 2017.
