A judge has rejected a motion to reduce the bond for a woman implicated in a dog mauling incident.
A hearing took place on Friday concerning Heather Rodriguez, 36, who was responsible for caring for a 1-year-old boy on October 7.
Rodriguez departed from her residence close to Converse in northeast Bexar County and isolated the baby in a room with her 13-year-old daughter to protect the child from the dogs.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that the dogs broke into the room and fatally attacked the boy.
At the hearing, Rodriguez sought a reduction of her $250,000 bond, but the judge turned down her request.
Rodriguez faces allegations of harming a child and putting them in danger.
A recent court decision in mid-October mandated the euthanasia of all three dogs owned by Rodriguez due to their involvement in the incident.
The dogs are set to be put down next week.
