Texas Teacher Made Teen Girlfriend Ditch Classes and Engage in Inappropriate Acts in His Truck during School Hours; Learns Fate

Honk News (El Paso, TX) –  A former math teacher from Eastwood High School, arrested in March 2024 for an inappropriate relationship with a student, has received an eight-year community supervision sentence.

Ryan Anthony Avalos began a relationship with the student in early November 2023.

He was arrested and faced charges related to an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The former math teacher and a student reportedly skipped school several times between November and December 2023 to engage in sexual activities in his truck, as stated in an affidavit from the El Paso Police Department.

Avalos initiated the relationship in mid-November by asking the student to use a different method of communication instead of their school email accounts.

They started talking on TikTok on Sunday, Nov. 12, and decided to skip half a school day to hang out.

Avalos drove the student to Cielo Vista Park in east El Paso, according to the EPPD’s affidavit.

Avalos and the student reportedly listened to music and used a THC vape before participating in several sexual activities, as stated in the affidavit.

Avalos confessed to having a sexual relationship with the student during an interview with the Chief Human Capital Management Officer of the Ysleta Independent School District on January 30, 2024.

Avalos confessed to district officials about engaging in a sexual relationship with the student, according to the affidavit.

Avalos was taken into custody and processed at the El Paso County Jail on March 1 for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student. He got out of jail the same day after paying a $100,000 bond.
