Honk News (Fort Worth, TX) – A lawsuit has been filed against an Arlington pastor and the church by a woman who accused him of sexual assault last June, as revealed in court documents.
A woman filed a lawsuit in Tarrant County on February 28, claiming more than $1 million in damages from Koinonia Christian Church and its pastor, Ronnie Goines.
The lawsuit outlines the accusations against Goines, describing how he purportedly groomed the individual after she started attending the church in August 2022.
Following her inquiry during the church’s Bible study, Goines extended an invitation for a private meeting with the woman, as stated in the lawsuit.
In the course of the meeting, Goines advised the woman that she “needed to learn how to trust again” and emphasized that it was “essential for her to be part of a community and receive counseling,” according to the suit.
Starting in January 2023, Goines made several attempts to reach out to the accuser, making numerous phone calls and sending her texts, according to her statement. In March of that year, the woman claimed that Goines assaulted her sexually on two different occasions at his residence, as stated in the lawsuit.

Goines turned himself into Tarrant County authorities in July 2024, the Star-Telegram previously reported. He faces charges of sexual assault and indecent assault. Pending criminal charges will see the next hearing take place in May, as indicated by court records.
Koinonia Christian Church officials have yet to provide a response regarding the lawsuit as of Wednesday.
