Honk News (Houston, TX) – A Texas mother is under investigation for child abuse after reportedly using a dog leash to strike her four children and allegedly threatening to burn their hair with a gas stove if they did not confess to leaving a tissue on the floor in their home.
Ebony Gonzalez, 31, faces allegations of four counts related to harming a child. Documents from the court indicate that the reported incident took place on Wednesday morning at their residence in Katy, a suburb of Houston. An arrest affidavit indicates that Gonzalez grew angry over a tissue on the floor, as none of her four children, aged 11, 11, 8, and 6, would admit to having dropped it.
Authorities claim she struck each individual with a dog leash. Subsequently, she issued a chilling threat to place their heads on a stove top and set their hair ablaze, according to the affidavit. The inquiry was initiated after a “frightened” child handed a note to a peer, outlining the supposed mistreatment. The friend subsequently notified the authorities, according to police reports.

Authorities placed the children in protective custody and conducted interviews with them. Authorities observed that two of the children displayed red welts and bruises on their upper backs. One more accusation claims that the mother yanked her daughter’s hair and delivered a kick. The affidavit revealed that the fourth child was reluctant to communicate with investigators, yet displayed noticeable marks.
Gonzalez has been apprehended and transported to the Harris County Jail, where she has subsequently secured a $10,000 bond for each of the charges against her. The upcoming court appearance is set for Thursday. She has been named as an attorney.
The individual is prohibited from having any unsupervised interactions with her offspring. A local ABC station has reported that the children are currently in the care of their grandmother. Authorities are looking into the situation.
