Texas Mother Dumped Newborn in Trash; Bond Increased after New Details Emerged Related to Horrific Incident

Houston, TX- A young mother has had her bond increased after being accused of giving birth to a baby and then immediately throwing it in a dumpster in southwest Houston.

According to court records, the bond for 18-year-old Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam has been raised to $200,000.

On July 23, she was taken into custody and accused of a third-degree felony for leaving a child without any intention of coming back. She was granted a bond of $90,000 at that time.

Police report that Cux-Ajtzalam reportedly delivered a baby on the ground behind a food truck while on duty in the 6020 block of Dashwood Drive.

According to court records, after giving birth, the teenager disposed of the baby, placenta, and umbilical cord by placing them in a trash bag and leaving them in a nearby dumpster.

According to records, a concerned individual heard the sound of a distressed baby and promptly dialed 911 to ensure the child’s safety. A baby was taken to the hospital and its condition is currently uncertain.

When officers apprehended Cux-Ajtzalam, she reportedly explained that she felt compelled to discard her baby in order to prevent her boyfriend from ending their relationship.
