Texas Mother Charged After Emaciated Disabled Daughter Found Caked with Feces; Condition was So Severe that Hospital Staff Instantly Called Police

Honk News (Luling, TX) – A Texas woman faces charges for injuring a disabled person after hospital staff alerted authorities about her 32-year-old daughter, who was found to weigh only 55 lbs.

Felisa Ann Sepulveda, 48, was arrested on February 28 after bringing her adult daughter to Ascension Seton Hospital in Luling, Texas. She reportedly stated that her daughter had been experiencing a cough for the past week.

An affidavit reveals that the patient showed significantly more severe symptoms, such as pneumonia, malnutrition, and dehydration, and looked like a “concentration camp survivor.”

The affidavit reveals that hospital staff noted the younger woman exhibited signs of a significant caloric deficit over a prolonged period and was found covered in human waste. Her clothing was soiled with dirt and had dried animal and human waste, urine, and blood on them. The patient was noted to have multiple bed sores due to immobility and decaying gums.

Sepulveda allegedly informed hospital staff that her daughter could walk and feed herself; however, the affidavit indicated that the young woman was so emaciated that doctors disputed her assertion.

During her police interview, Sepulveda reportedly confessed to using wipes to clean her daughter, stating that the child had not bathed or showered in more than five years. She last visited a doctor in 2018.

The affidavit indicated that there was “no medical reason for (the woman’s) emaciation and malnutrition.”

A report from The Seguin Gazette indicated that the residence of Sepulveda, along with her two adult children, housed 29 dogs on the premises. The dogs were taken from the home and brought to local shelters and foster homes. Sepulveda, who was said to be without a job, was the only caregiver for her daughter and a son with disabilities.

Sepulveda has been taken into custody and faces charges for causing felony harm to a person with disabilities. She is now being held at the Guadalupe County Jail with a bond set at $300,000.
