Texas Man Sentenced for Brutal Molestation of a 7-year-old Girl: DOJ

A man from Floresville, Texas, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of a 7-year-old girl, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Floresville is located approximately 30 miles southeast of San Antonio.

In December 2022, court documents revealed that Rodney Allan Felux, 45, committed acts of sexual assault and exploitation against a young girl who was attending a residential daycare. The victim informed her mother about the predatory sexual behavior, leading to an investigation.

During a forensic interview, it was revealed that the girl experienced a traumatic incident of sexual assault. She was blindfolded and taken to a shed, where Felux proceeded to capture sexually explicit images of her, according to a news release.

Felux was taken into custody on January 11, 2023, and later admitted guilt in January 2024 for a charge related to the sexual exploitation of children, according to a news release. Furthermore, Felux will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release and has been instructed by U.S. District Judge Fred Biery to provide $50,000 in restitution to the victim.

“This sentencing sends a clear message that we will not tolerate the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in our community,” Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI’s San Antonio Field Office said in the news release. “The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners at the Wilson County Sheriff’s office, will continue to vigorously pursue every lead to rescue children who are being victimized, and bring their perpetrators to justice.”

The case was investigated by the FBI and Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson handling the prosecution.

This case was initiated as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse that was launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006.
