Texas Man Killed Three and Ate their Body Parts including Heart as a Ritual; Jury Pondering over Death Penalty Sentence in Fort Worth

A man in Texas has been found guilty of murdering three individuals, dismembering their remains, and incinerating them, after confessing to authorities that he was summoned to carry out “sacrifices.”

On Wednesday, Jason Thornburg was convicted of capital murder. Now, the Tarrant County jury that reached this verdict faces the task of deciding whether he will be sentenced to death or spend life in prison without parole, as reported by Fox 4.

In September 2021, Thornburg murdered three individuals, dismembered their remains, and concealed them under his bed in a motel located in Euless, Texas, before setting the bodies ablaze in a dumpster in Fort Worth.

His lawyers claimed he was not in his right mind during the murders and was affected by a serious mental illness.

Thornburg was arrested on murder charges and admitted to police that he killed his roommate in May 2021 during a mysterious home explosion, as well as his girlfriend in Arizona in 2017.

On Thursday, the court addressed the two earlier murders as the trial moved into the sentencing phase.

Thornburg admitted to investigators that he had an urge to carry out “ritualistic sacrifices” and that he consumed a victim’s heart along with other body parts.
