Honk News (Montgomery County, TX) – A detention officer in Montgomery County has been charged with engaging in inappropriate sexual conduct with an inmate, placing him in a position of accountability.
Detention officer Oscar Vazquez has been taken into custody by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office amid claims of inappropriate conduct with an inmate.
Vazquez, a six-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, faced immediate suspension following the initiation of the investigation on February 21, 2025.
Investigators established sufficient grounds and secured an arrest warrant for serious misconduct involving a person in custody. Vazquez has been taken into custody and has stepped down amid an ongoing inquiry. He has been taken into custody and is now at the Montgomery County Jail.

In a statement regarding the arrest, Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle highlighted the significance of accountability.
“I have spent years investigating public integrity cases and holding people accountable for violating the public’s trust and I will hold employees accountable for their actions,” Sheriff Doolittle said. “Criminal behavior will not be tolerated. Individuals in our jail also deserve protection, and any violation of their rights will be met with swift and decisive action.”
